A Review of Sweet Peppers Deli In Athens Alabama

A few weeks ago my husband and I had opportunity to eat at the deli that had opened up near our home.    I had heard of the place about a year ago when I was in another part the state visiting.   My husband and I were excited to have the chance to eat at Sweet Peppers Deli. They have a wide variety of sandwiches, soups and salads on their menu.   The restaurant is located at the corner of Hwy 72 W and Lindsay Lane in the shopping center that also houses a new Publix Grocery Store.    It looks small from the outside but seemed to have plenty of seating available for weekday at noon time.   We had no problems getting a seat.

My husband ordered THE BULLDOG Tender roast beef, kielbasa,spicy jalapeno pepper cheese, our own BBQ
sauce with your choice of toppings.    Kind of an odd combination but it was dfferent and unique.    I did take a bite of it.   I won't go so far as to say I did not like it.    It just is not a combination of what I would like together.   My husband seemed to like it very well. You do have the option of making this sandwich a large.  He would order it again.

I ordered The BLT Crisp bacon, fresh iceberg lettuce and tomato slices with mayo.  I know most people are thinking you can get a blt just about anywhere.   Here they serve it on a hoagie or sub roll versus sliced bread.  This sandwich also has the option of making it a large as well.   It was very tasty and I would order it again.   The staff that work there are friendly and seemed very eager to please.   This is a casual deli but they have staff that walks around to make sure you are enjoying your meal and actually offer to refill your drink.   In my opinion I think that is a much needed alternative to fast food in my small town.   I would recommend it to my family and friends.
