How to Appear Busy at Work

Being a free spirited freelance writer I've finally lost touch with the corporate office mentality. I still like to help my fellow men and women trudging thru it. I think this article will help those starting out and working in an office.You don't have to work in an office for these tips to help, even if you work at Starbucks as a barista you will find something familiar. I know many people feel out of place and are not sure what to do next. These tips will impress your co-workers and most importantly your boss, that you are take charge and with it.

When your on the phone talk loud, really let your presence be known. Remember the person on the other end is probably feeling as crazed and out of it as you are. You could even say " Are you guys as nutty over there as we are?" Always, always have an answer for someone when they ask you what your doing or, what's up next?

Whenever your going to the printer or to get a drink of water, walk briskly and pass as many people as possible. Be sure to talk to yourself constantly stating things like " Ok that's done, what's next?"

When your boss talks to you take notes or at least pretend to. When one of your co-workers talks to you hold up a finger like you need to finish what your doing before you can talk. Most importantly get in good with HR, ask them about their weekend. You'll never have an issue with your pay again.
