Today we're gonna make some perfectly delicious crab cakes that are both easy to make and even better to eat. Although crabmeat certainly isn't cheap, it's really the only item of any cost in this recipe - 2 slices of bread and an egg and spices certainly don't cost much. So let's get started - read on for crab cakes...

Want to learn how to make crab cakes to impress your friends and family?

Here's what you're going to need as far as ingredients go - 2 slices of white bread torn into pieces, 1 egg (lightly beaten), 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of white wine worcestershire sauce, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/8 tsp salt, 1/2 pound of lump crabmeat, 1 scallion sliced, and 1 tablespoon of oil.

You're going to need to set the bread out for an hour in order to allow it to harden a bit.  Then, mix the egg, mayo, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a bowl.  Add your slightly hardened bread into the bowl.

Next, toss your llump crabmeat and your sliced scallion into the mixture (if you don't like scallions or don't have one, feel free to sprinkle in some onion powder instead).  Next, shape your mixture into eight crab cake patties (as if you were making hamburgers).

Cook your crab cakes in hot oil in a large non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat, about 3 minutes per side - until lightly browned and cooked through.  Yum!

This recipe is simple and doesn't contain a lot of fancy ingredients and spices that will turn the kids off, so it makes an easy, fun dinner.  You can make an easy cole slaw with shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and mayonnaise to make it a truly stellar meal.  Serve the cakes on rolls or just plated up with the coleslaw.  Very impressive – and even easier to make than meatloaf.  Enoy this crab cake recipe with your loved ones.
