After a long day shopping in Prague or seeing the Prague tourist sites, your feet will be aching, so here is a great idea to ease the pain, put your feet up for some massage therapy in one of Pragues foot massage parlors.

After a long hard day's shopping in Prague or walking the Prague tourist attractions, your pocket and feet will be aching but never fear there is help just around the corner. Prague has a generous scattering of massage parlors, ranging from sleazy to classy, but after Prague sightseeing the massage therapy you'll be needing the most is to your feet.

The Sawasdee massage parlor can be found on the castle side (Lesser Town) close to the Charles Bridge, on your left as you exit the bridge, (5 Hroznova Street) and 3 other branches are located through out Prague. The massage parlors are decorated tastefully with oriental symbols and Feng Shui type attention to detail. There are small ornamental waterfalls, bamboo and vine looking plants, soothing colors as well as comfortable chairs.

You sit in one of these comfortable reclining chairs, put your feet up and let them go to work. First they clean your feet with a warm cloth. The Masseuse rubs ointments and creams into your tired feet, and kneed the pain away. They stretch and massage to "open" Sen (energy) lines, and press down on reflex points with a stick. These reflex points correspond to the internal organs. I don't think they are experts in reflexology, but they do know which parts of the feet relate to which parts of the body, and where to press.

They work all the way up to just above the knee so it is really a lower leg massage. It is done with attention to modesty, as you are covered with a towel from the knees up, as well as remaining in your street clothes. If your clothes don't accommodate the massage they have shorts you can borrow.

The massagers are from Thailand or Vietnam, as there are over 60,000 Vietnamese in the Czech Republic it is no wonder that this line of business has flourished and you can also see the Asian expats working in the Prague Market. On offer are also full body massages and massages of longer length, but for the sightseeing tourist who is on his feet all day the 30 minute foot massage is perfect at a reasonable price of 400CZK (20 Euro). Their most expensive treatment is a 2 hour full traditional Thai massage at 900CZK (40 Euro). Weekend prices are 25% higher.

They are open from 12:00-22:00 and other locations include 19 Rytirska, 8 Zatecka, 24 Ujezd and 5 Hroznova. Check out their web site. If you are in Prague you can't miss their eye popping logo of two colorful feet decorated with the corresponding body parts.
