How to get to Prague from Airport - Airport Shuttles

How to get to Prague city center from the Airport using the airport shuttle service. This is a Prague airport shuttle service which I have used and been satisfied with.

After much searching on the net, and plenty of advise from the Trip Advisor travel forum about how to get from the Prague Ryzne airport to my hotel I decided on the Prague Airport Transfers service, and in particular the shuttle service.

Although the public bus connection is O.K. when you arrive at a descent hour; you know where your hotel is; if the hotel is close to a metro stop; you have very little luggage or very little money. However I would advise you to take the shuttle service if you are a female traveling alone; arriving in the middle of the night; your hotel is not in easy walking distance from a metro stop or if you have a lot of luggage.

This shuttle service is definitely the cheapest of the private transport options, at 290CZK (10UKP), one way, you won't find cheaper. There are also discounts if you are more than one traveler (2 people – 450CZK, 3 people – 530CZK). The compromise that you need to make for this low price is that there may be other travelers with you, and the driver will have to pick up and drop them off as well. However the shuttles leave every half hour so the maximum amount of time it will take to get to your hotel is one hour. The maximum number of passengers is 8.

The driver, who speaks English, waits for you in a prominent position with your name written on a sign. The mini-buses are air-conditioned, non-smoking and in good condition. The shuttle service runs from 07:00 – midnight, although the regular private transport runs 24 hours.

On departing Prague the pick up time can be 15 minutes either side of the time you order the transfer for.

The advantages of this service as compared to others are the easy booking on line, with no pre-payment necessary; if you are the only passenger for that particular time you have the transport all to yourself and go straight to your hotel; you get a free Prague map, and voucher for a 4 our walking tour of the city. I have done the tour and it was very good.

Their web site is http://www.prague-airport-shuttle.cz/ My favorite thing I did in Prague was going to a market a little out of town.

In reply to Julie’s comment: I’m very sorry about your experience. It all comes down to individual experiences, one person’s may be different from anothers. On my trip I was to meet a friend and she had arrived on a different flight and booked a transport for 790CZH in contrast to my 290, and her ride did not turn up at all. So you never know. I was just relaying what my experience with their service was. Once again, I’m sorry if you felt mis-led by my article.

My 81 year old mother and I have just returned from Prague, we made the mistake of booking this service. I read the above article and thought it would be a great way to get to our hotel, the Grand on old town square. We were coming on two different flights so it would save us some money! I arrived first from Paris in the morning and nobody was waiting even though the flight was on time, I waited about 20 minutes and then called the number provided and no one answered. I tried several times and finally someone called, they explained that my driver was at the other terminal waiting for another passenger and would be there as soon as he could. He showed up 15 minutes later, after I had been waiting 50 minutes. He then took me to my hotel although I was the 4th drop off, it took almost 2 hours to get to my hotel.

My mum came in the evening and the driver was indeed waiting and all seemed well except he took her to the wrong hotel Grand and my mum was frantic, the reception there was nice and called her a cab but she had to pay 400 crowns to get to the proper hotel.

You get what you pay for!
