Is your skin looking a little dull lately? Here's a way to recapture the glow of youth.

Does your face lose its natural glow when the weather turns cold? There are several reasons for this. You may be less active in the winter which reduces circulation to the face and your skin may become dry due to drying indoor heat and lack of humidity. If you want to revive your facial skin and give it that youthful glow, there are a variety of steps you can take to restore the beautiful blush of youth. Here are some simple ways to make your face glow:

How to make your face glow: Exfoliate

This is one the fastest and easiest ways to refresh skin that looks pale and pasty. Buy an exfoliating facial pad designed specifically for the face. Never use one created for the body since it can be too abrasive. Dampen the exfoliating pad and apply a small amount of gentle soap. Moving in a clockwise motion around your face, use the exfoliating pad to buff your skin in a circular motion. Don't get too aggressive as you can actually scratch your face. Continue with this gentle buffing motion until you've covered your face twice. Rinse with cold water and dry your face. Your skin should look rosy and should feel soft to the touch.

How to make your face glow: Do an herbal steam treatment.

An herbal steam treatment will not only add beautiful color to your face, it'll also deep clean your pores. To do an herbal steam facial, add a handful of herbs to a pot of water and boil the water. Reduce the heat and allow the pot to cool until it's warm but still comfortable to the touch. Drape a towel over your head and place your head over the pot of steaming water. Make sure the water isn't too hot to avoid a burn. Allow your face to remain in this position for five minutes. Breathe deeply and relax while savoring the smell of the herbs. After five minutes, rinse your face in cold water and apply a toner or astringent to close your pores. Not only should you skin have a beautiful glow, you'll also feel more relaxed.

How to make your face glow: Take a brisk walk or stand on your head.

A brisk walk, particularly if the temperature is cool outside, will get your circulation going and bring color to your face. For maximum benefits, walk quickly enough that you feel slightly out of breath. Breathe in the crisp, cool air and enjoy the experience. Likewise, standing on your head increases blood flow to the face which will add a gentle glow to your skin, although it may take some practice!

How to make your face glow: Use a powdered bronzer.

It may be cheating a bit, but brushing on a facial bronzer can give you skin the beautiful glow of summer. Try doing this after exfoliating or doing an herbal steam treatment for even better results. Most cosmetic lines make facial bronzers. Be sure to select one that's not too dark for your skin tone and apply it with a light touch. An extremely heavy application will look to harsh and artificial.

Don't forget about the importance of good skin care, a healthy diet, and regular exercise to help keep your face glowing. If you're a smoker, kick the habit since smoking reduces circulation to the face and can give you a pasty, sallow look. Also, wear a smile on your face. That will give you the nicest glow of all.
