How to Start a Search Engine Optimization Web Site

There is so much information out there about SEO in various places and in various media. Everything you need to know is out there and can be compiled and re-written into one comprehensive media via a search engine optimization website. A search engine optimization website would be dedicated to all things SEO and will ideally help anyone writing articles or pages or creating web sites to increase their search engine attention.

Step 1

Come up with a catchy name for your search engine optimization website. Something like, “AnthonysSEO.info” is not likely to be a good name. It’s best to optimize your domain name the same way you would a keyword for an article and then make that the same or similar to the actual website name so that it can be found easily by title.

Step 2

Build the site. You should be able to navigate the site easily in all fashions. Include categories and a search engine. Widgets for popular and related articles are great to have in your sidebar. Make sure colors and borders are easy on the eyes. Consult a non-techno savvy friend to try the site out and make sure everything is comprehensive.

Step 3

Write articles. Some old school theory is that you should have 40ish articles on a website to call it a site. From a more modern perspective, if you want your site to build a following, you need to have at least 1000 articles. This seams daunting. Start with 50 of the very broad topics and then focus on the rest of the site. Once it is up and running and making a little income go back and write more pages until you exceed 1000 articles. Once you have that many the site should remain popular for a very long time. Articles should have a narrow scope and be about 500 words.

Step 4

Monetize. Don’t let all that SEO training go to waste. A Search engine optimization website should have ads on it so it will make some money. Do research on ad placement. There is no hard and fast rule about what to do, but there are certainly things that can be done.

Step 5

Market your site. Put all your tricks to good use. Market each article individually by using social bookmarking tools for back links and keyword them well. A search engine optimization website should demonstrate use of all tactics that it is suggesting to use.

Step 6

Forums are a great way to reduce your bounce rate and get people to stick on the site longer. In any way you can, integrate the forum into the articles so that discussions happening about a topic are displayed side by side with the article itself.
