You may know how to blog, but there are some things that you may need to know about how to blog photos. Photo blogging is not as simple as placing photos into Blogger or Wordpress and submitting the content. The following article will tell you how to blog photos.

Step 1

Choose your photos carefully. The blogging community is looking for pictures which have some sort of meaning. Many people do odd things or humorous photos. Just like a regular blog, you have to have a theme in order to properly blog photos.

Step 2

If you already know how to blog then this part will be easy. Add text to all of your entries explaining what the photo is about. This is so that the search engines can find the photos in the image search.

Step 3

Name photos. This isn’t really part of knowing how to blog, rather it is a search engine optimization trick. You have to name your photo according to you keywords so that the search engines will find it and bring people to your site. This along with the site text are the criteria that they use.

Step 4

Submit to social bookmark sites which have specific image feeds. Digg and Mixx both do this, but there are many, many others. People sit and surf these sites looking for cool stuff all day long so you can get a lot of traffic this way.

Step 5

Use text Ads if you are going to monetize the photo blog. If you use graphical ads they can both take away from the photo and they disappear because the site may look too busy.

Step 6

Stick to non-adult themed photos. There is certainly a market for adult material, but you will attract a broader audience with clean material.

Not that you know how to blog photos, carry your camera around with you and snap shots of anything that looks fun until you get enough pictures to start your site.
