Recipes for some colorful cocktails for the holiday season.

When it's time to sit around the fireplace on a cold snowy evening with friends, you may not want the traditional hot cocoa or coffee. What you might find a little more fun, is a drink with a different kind of a kick such as a nice colorful holiday cocktail. Of course, one of you needs to drink cocoa and keep a clear head!

Jose' Bells

You will need Jose' Cuervo Strawberry Margarita, in the bottle already mixed, and Diet Sunkist Soda. You can use regular orange Sunkist soda also. Mix these half and half in a drink glass of your choice. Add ice. You have a wonderful, not too strong, red Christmassy cocktail!

The Holly

Green Apple Pucker and 7-up (or diet) mixed half and half in a glass of your choice. Add ice. Now you have a holiday Green cocktail!

Peppermint Cocoa

Mix hot cocoa of your choice in a large cocoa mug. Add a shot of peppermint schnapps. Stick a candy cane in the mug if you are serving guests. For the children, leave the candy cane but remove the schnapps!

Cranpagne

In a glass of your size choice, mix half Cran-apple juice and half champagne. Add ice.

Jack's Egg Nog

In a large sturdy glass, put one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Pour the glass half full of egg nog. Pour in even amounts of cream soda and Jack Daniels whiskey to fill up the glass the rest of the way. Stir lightly

Hot Buttered Rum

In a large coffee mug, put one spoonful of brown sugar, one spoonful of butter, dark rum and hot milk. Stir well. You can add shavings of milk chocolate on the top. Cool whip or marshmallow cream may also be added. The measurements of rum and milk are left up to you. Experiment with strengths and tastes!
