Every woman has a need to look sophisticated. These easy tips will make you look sophisticated in the most effortless way.

There comes a time in every woman’s life that looking sophisticated over chic, or trendy becomes necessary.  Knowing how to pull the sophisticated look off can be a bit hard for all of us.  I hope to make that a little easier with the next tips I am sharing with you.  Though these next five tips may seem small they make a huge difference.

First, have good posture. Standing up straight and tall makes it easier for other people to see you as a sophisticated person and this will keep your back healthy long into your life.  Standing up straight is more of a power position then slouching is, this can help you get taken more seriously.

Second, wear matte finish makeup.  Although shiny is a good look on some occasions and may be what is popular, it does not make you look all that sophisticated.  Go for makeup that is not shiny or glittery and that will not make your skin look as though it is dry.

Third, keep up with your manicure.  A chipped and old manicure looks sloppy and lazy making you appear sloppy and lazy.  None of us need to be branded with those titles. Do your best to keep your nails looking great. It really does only take a few minutes everyday to keep your manicure looking amazing.  I take care of mine in the evening when I sit down to watch a bit of TV or when I am visiting with a friend.

Fourth, keep a good stock of hairspray close at hand.  Having hairs out of place or flying all over may look okay at the beach but not so good at the office.  Keep a small bottle of hairspray in your purse and a good stock at home.  I would also consider having some in your desk at the office and maybe even a bottle in your car.  Never leave home without hairspray to fix any mishaps you may encounter with your hair along the way.

Fifth, if you must pull your hair back, do not use a scrunchie.  I am guilty of just grabbing a scrunchie and pulling my hair up just for a fast easy fix, but it does look a bit childish.  Choose a plain elastic band or go with a grown up barrette of some kind.  I particularly feel the tortoise shell barrette is very sophisticated looking.
