Save your perfume for date night.  If you must wear any scent go with a light body spray and do not over do it.  An overpowering scent can be offensive to some of the people at your interview as well as leave a bad first impression.  We all want to leave a great first impression, so leave the smell at home.

Do not speak negatively about anyone, especially your previous employers.  Even if you worked for the most horrible business before your job interview, don’t talk about it.  If you can’t find anything nice to say, don’t comment about them at all.  A new employer will not appreciate the possibility that you will bad mouth them. 

Remember that the interview is a conversation.  Even though you are selling yourself you do not want to dominate the conversation.  The interviewer has many things they need to discern form you in a short time.  Among these things is your ability to listen.  So listen up and answer your questions as best you can without adding to much extra.

Your interviewer has been sent specifically to test you.  Do not become buddies with the person interviewing you.  You potential new employer isn’t as interested in your niceness as they are your professionalism.  Being chummy with the interviewer doesn’t show great business acumen so just answer the interviewer the best you can without being too formal.

When the interview is all done, go out and celebrate by getting ice cream or buying a new purse.  Do not go online and talk about your interview.  Privacy is a big issue with most employers and talking about the company online does not display that you are a very private person, thus making you the wrong person for the job.  Don’t just shrug this off thinking they aren’t going to check.  Even the local convenience store will check for this kind of thing.
