Trees are among the greatest and most important creations of nature.

This picture of a lonesome tree that was taken in Akakus, Libya reminds us that even in the harshest and most desolate place – “we can survive” as long as we have determination and willingness to survive.

I agree that “no man is an island” but in the real sense, this tree is not all alone by itself. It has those grasses, earth, wind, the sun and more importantly – its own shadow for company. So there’s no reason for it to be lonely.
