Finding the right groomer.

If you just don't have time to groom your pet this month, how will you find a groomer you will be happy with? We handle most grooming needed for our pets at home, and we know it can be difficult to find someone you like quickly.

These ideas may help you find a groomer when you need one. I would enjoy using a professional groomer on a regular basis. However, with today's economy this is something many of us are just not doing.

Check your local phone book: This may be the best place to start.  After noticing 200 or more listings, you may change your mind. Our local phone book offers coupon. Check for these, and see if this helps you decide on a groomer in the area.

Call the veterinarian's office: Sometimes the office staff may have a preference. In some areas you may find a groomer working in the vet's office. This does not mean you are getting the best groomer, but the convenience might win you over.

Check you pet's insurance. If you have pet insurance that covers this be sure you use a vet that complies with the insurance guidelines. Will you get the correct receipt or paperwork you need for your insurance to pay?

Speak to employees of pet stores and pet supply stores: Everyone has an opinion, but you may find the best choice through such a referral.

Groomer training schools: You may get a great deal if you live in an area with a groomer training school. Remember, if someone makes a mistake on your dog's hair style, it will grow back. And most of us have paid plenty in the past and gotten exactly what we did not ask for, so it might not be a new experience for you.

Finding coupons: Ask groomers if they have any coupons or special offers published in local papers or coupon books. Don't be afraid to let a groomer know you are on a budget and need a discount!
