How To Make Your Own Body Wash
This is an easy, and reasonably inexpensive way to make your own body wash for you, your family and as a gift.
Body washes are available by the dozens in all major department stores. We all have our favorites and brands that we stick with year after year. We even get attached to certain smells, such as vanilla, lavender, or citrus. Usually these body washes range in price from $3.50 per bottle to $10 per bottle. The price will depend on several factors, the biggest factor being the brand name of the manufacturer! In fairness, some of the more inexpensive soaps tend to be more harsh on you skin. It takes months or years of experimenting with all types of body washes to determine which one is best for you, or for your family.
If you are tired of the exorbitant price of today's soaps and body washes, try making your own. In addition to getting your preferred smell in every bottle, you can try out different degrees of roughness or gentleness to your skin. You can tweak it to suit you and your family. This also makes a great gift!
Gather these supplies:
Four tablespoons of aloe gel
one cup of unscented shampoo
one teaspoon of table salt
one and one half cups of distilled water
Approximately 30 drops of a scented oil of your choice.
You will need an empty bottle to put your mixture in.
Warm the water and mix it into the shampoo. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Stir well,
making sure they are well mixed. Pour your mixture into your bottle, and it's done!
Hint: Buy colorful decorative plastic bottles at your local dollar store and give homemade body wash as gifts!!
