Audrey's dilemma

"Mother," she screams out into the night.

"Father, why did you give up the fight?"

She wonders, how can I make all these wrong's right.

How can she turn darkness into light?

On that night the storm raged.

In her perfect world, they turned the page.

Now, huddled inside this cage.

This is where they built the stage.

Who's to pay?

And she cries

Out in the night.

Why could she not see

Thestrouble that was brewing?

She searches for a friendly face,

But there's nothing that can replace

The guilt that eats her up inside.

Where can she hide?

She looks to a brother, kind and strong.

Ernest, the great comforter, now that they're gone.

In the torture if a night so long,

She can't hear the song.

And she cries

Out in the night.

Why could she not see

The trouble that was brewing?

She searches for a friendly face,

But there's nothing that can replace

The guilt that eats her up inside.

Why does she reach for something shell never find?

She hears someone call her name.

They say, "Audrey, I'll show you the way."

Who's the one that haunts her throughout the day?

What's there left to say?

But she's left to cry

Out in the night.

Why could she not see

Why doesn't she know the reasons why?

They had to fly.

And she whispers, "I love you."
