Fortunately and unfortunately Mr. Obama, President of America, has been stamped as a socialist by the people who share ideas and opinions with the Republican school. President Obama has inclined to address the public school students and his delivery will be telecast live on the White House websites. The White House sources have reported that President Obama likes to tell the students community to be more industrious and to remain in the class and learn properly and perfectly.

The right-wing websites of the USA have raised huge uproar over it. They have a sustained accusation against the President and the accusation is that he has been engaged in a campaign for the doctrine of socialism in America. Now, a large section of the American society is already there to oppose the desire of the President to address the students.

Addressing to the students by a President is nothing new in the USA. Visit to a school by a person from this chair is also nothing new. Of course, fewer occasions may be recollected when such programs have been a subject of live telecast. One can remember an event of 1991 when the then President George Bush has taken a chance to address the students over national broadcast and he has asked the students to work hard and reject drugs etc. People of the Democratic Party have charged him for misusing tax-payers’ money worth $27,000.

But Mr. Obama has been facing with such statement that schools of the USA are going to be turned to some socialist movement. A few features of the American society may be highlighted in the context of the present storm or fever occupying the heart of America.

There is no denial that America is a citadel for democratic practices. Mr. Obama is a citizen of America and he is the President of the nation. He wants to address the students of the country. And what is the harm in it? It is not clear what is actually in the mind of the people who has been vigorously opposing this. An individual, a president or a general citizen whoever he may be, cannot be disallowed to talk to his fellowmen. Yes, the incumbents, who are the target listeners, may not attend him and they have always such choice. Fair use or misuse of tax-payers’ money may be a point of discourse and democratic platforms are there to develop constructive discussion on the issue.

The President of a nation is the first citizen of the country. He has been elected democratically. His office must be honored. Children should not be taught to disrespect him. By doing so one will actually teach them to disrespect the seniors and such an example will be detrimental to the health of the nation in the long run. Kindly note the environment. Teachers and parents at Houston or Utah or Georgia or Colorado or California or Illinois or Connecticut or at some other regions have been behaving in a manner as if a snake with the deadliest venom has appeared. Parents have expressed reluctance to get their kids addressed by the President of the country. In some places teachers are furious, as if, Mr. Obama has sinned and has been sinning. True it is that people have democratic right of such dimension. At the same time one may question if the American mind has been missing the treasure of toleration.
