Coffee Is More Than A Morning Pick Me Up

Green tea can be a good alternative for those who do not like coffee. Having to make up your coffee with lots of sugar and cream can defeat the purpose of drinking it for health benefits.

Coffee naturally full antioxidants that help fight free radicals. Experts have suggested suggests that one serving of coffee contains more antioxidants than fruit. One hospital based study showed those who drank regular coffee or have a lower risk of uterine cancer than women who were nondrinkers. Lab work has shown that caffeine induces enzymes that help to neutralize cancer causing substances.

In addition to caffeine, there are some other helpful compounds that might be at work. Coffee has antioxidants, flavonoids, catechins and isoflavones that could also be helping to protect the body from cancer. In the hospital based study participants who drank 4 cups of coffee day were only half as likely as those who didn't drink this coffee to have endometrial cancer.

Coffee in moderation has been shown to reduce the sensation of tiredness and improve your short term memory. Moderation in consumption means a person is consuming between 3 to 5 cups of a medium brew. Experts also suggest drinking coffee for health no more than 20 minutes after it is brewed. After twenty minutes it has been shown coffee loses some of its nutrition.

Green tea can be sweetened with honey and made more palatable with the addition of fruit juices. Green tea is lower in caffeine ,but still gives you some of the benefits of coffee Tea has it’s own antioxidant effects that differ from coffee’s , but still have value.
