Fox Glove Cottage makes for a nice Hocking Hills rental for couples.

Fox Glove Cottage, formerly Hocking Cottage, is found in a subdivision on the south shore of the Hocking Hill’s Lake Logan.  While not completely secluded, it still provides a relaxing escape from the Midwestern blandness of the Columbus Metro Area.

The cottage features cozy appointments throughout.  The single bedroom has a queen-size bed – the warm comforter and sheets were needed.  A gas fireplace is the centerpiece of the living room, whose couch had stunningly comfortable fabric.

The digital cable and high-speed internet access were necessary as the cold, blustery weekend prevented us from spending too much time hiking in the Hocking Hills.  The kitchen could have used some larger saucepans and skillets, but we were still able to make a nice dinner.  Nearby Logan has a growing collection of good restaurants, if dining out is preferred to making one's own meal.

There is small porch in the back of the cottage with a hot tub, but once again, the cold kept us mostly indoors that weekend.  Obviously, during the warmer months, the hot tub makes the cottage a perfect destination for a romantic couples weekend..

The cottage would be perfect for a fishing trip in warmer times, as it has a private dock across the street on Lake Logan.  The weekend rental fee of around $135 is lower than the typical Hocking Hills rental, but it still provides enough amentities to make it a worthy travel value.

We’d definitely recommend Fox Glove Cottage for those who want a quick an inexpensive weekend getaway in Ohio’s Hocking Hills.
