This is an article on how to change careers.

People decide to change careers for a multitude of reasons. Some of the reasons include: not making enough money, hate the job, the career is not my heart-centered path, etc. This is a step-by-step guide on how to change careers:

Step 1) Catalogue your LIKE AND DISLIKES about your current job or career. What do you find fulfilling in your career? What do you hate about your career? Spend a day and write down all of your current likes and dislikes about your career on a piece of paper. Make a list of about 100, and don't stop until you list 100 likes and dislikes about your current career.

Step 2) Take a CAREER APTITUDE TEST. Most career aptitude tests will detail your personality type as well as careers that most often fit with your particular personality type. Common career advice tests from career counselors include the following: Meyers-Briggs, Highland Ability Battery Test, and the Enneagram.

Step 3) What is something you really LOVE TO DO. Is it possible for you to make money doing what you love to do? This is the best way to find your heart-centered career path. For example, If you love to teach and you have a spiritual side, you need to be a minister.

Step 4) Research your NEW CAREER. You need to hit your local library and get on yahoo and google to learn as much as you can about this new career you are planning to pursue.

Step 5) Talk to THOSE ALREADY IN THAT CAREER FIELD. Give them a call and meet for coffee or lunch and just ask them about what they do on a typical day in their job or career. You'll learn a lot in this 15 minute to 1 hr career meeting.

Step 6) Go back to SCHOOL to get the training necessary to enter that career field. You are going to have to rough it out for awhile if it's trully a career you want to pursue.

Step 7) Get INTERNSHIPS in that career field. You need to get some experience in order to get a job in your career. Do all the career networking you can in order to jump start a career. I hope this has been a helpful article on how to change careers. Good luck!
