Have you ever found those perfect flowers that you wanted to keep forever? Or went to a special event and wanted to save the flower arrangements from the tables? Well pressing and framing flowers is not that hard to do and you can preserve your favorite moments in a few easy steps.

To start, you will need a few things to press your flowers with and to frame them, if you choose to. They are:

  • Flowers.
  • Large, heavy, thick book.
  • News paper.
  • Frame.
  • Acid free paper that will fit inside the frame.
  • Sissors.
  • Acid free glue.

You have your flowers and now you need to press them. Cut or carefully tear your news paper to match the size of the flowers. Place one flower in each piece of paper and fold over. Now place inside the book. Depending on how large your book is, you may be able to place multiple flowers inside the book. Do this with all the flowers you have. Placing them in multiple books if necessary.

You will need to allow at least three days for the flowers to dry and flatten out. Check them after three days and if they are pressed flately and dry, then you can remove them.  If not, then give them a few more days.

Now that the flowers are pressed, they are ready to be framed. Make sure that the mounting paper is acid free and fits inside the frames that you are using. If it is too big, then trim where necessary. Decide on the flower arrangement and using acid free glue, glue in place.

Place the mounted flowers inside the frame and you are now ready to hang your framed floweres. You can add other touches such as the event that the flowers came from, where you picked them, or the trip that you found them on. Use acid free pens, markers, colored pencils, or crayons. These are found in the scrapbooking section of the store. Your done!
