Fall’s Best Accessories and Trends

This fall we are seeing an array of different trends and styles come down the runway and all over town.  There are many great trends this fall, and I have chosen the best of the best to present to you.  With this guide you will be able to make the best decisions when out shopping as well as when you go through your closet.

The first section of this guide will be on fabrics.  This seasons top fabric trends are, fur, brocade, knits, suede, quilted and velvet.  I am seeing fur all over the place in every color including bright neon.  Fur vests, large coats, stoles and bomber style hats seem to be the most prevalent ways to sport your furs this season.  Brocade shirts and puff skirt short dresses are the choice for brocade this season.  Knit sweaters, pants and scarves are everywhere I look.  Quilted purses and dresses in black have seemed to make it just in time for the Chanel movies.  Velvet dresses and shoes are among my favorite classics and have made a smashing comeback this fall.  Suede seems to come in small accent pieces, like suede lining on the legs of your pants or a great suede handbag. 

The second section will be about themed clothing.  This season go for art and/or pop art as well as unisex.  The unisex look is back complete with the old black and white saddle shoes.  Throw on the shoes, knit trousers, white shirt, a man’s tie and a fedora, and you all set to sport this look.  Art on your clothing and accessories has become a major trend this season as well.  I recommend artistic styled shoes and Andy Warhol inspired graphic tee’s and purses.  For all of you kitschy ladies out there, this is your season.

The third section will discuss additions to our clothing and wardrobe in general. The hot additions this season are, chains, draping, grommets, tassels and zippers.  Try placing any of these anywhere in your wardrobe.  Shoes, shirts, pants, you name it. 

The fourth and last section is about pieces themselves.  The best for this season are hosiery, over the knee boots, and jewelry.  Make a statement with your jewelry this season.  Just about any kind is in this season as long as you like it.  All types of tights and hose have made a huge comeback this fall.  Try knit tights in a bright color.  Over the knee boots are being worn in place of pants in a lot of cases.  These are the must have shoes of the season.
