Change to a low-calorie diet: A diet which are high in nutrients and low in calories decreases DNA damage, decreases insulin levels and body temperature – these are the signs of long life.

Eat foods which contains antioxidants such as berries, specially blueberries, beans, cinnamon, artichoke, cloves etc. Antioxidants get rid of free radicals, which accelerate the ageing process causing degenerative diseases such as Cancer, arteriosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease.

Do not sleep too long: Sleeping more than eight hours every night can reduce life expectancy. Research studies show that people who sleep between 6-7 hours per night live the longest.

Stop smoking: Middle-aged men, who have been long-term chain smokers, face twice the possibility of developing prostate cancer than the non-smokers. Smoking influences life expectancy.

Having intimate sex can make you happy, rested and less stressed; which in turn can lower the blood pressure protecting you against heart disease and stroke, say researchers.

Control your irritation: People responding to stress with irritation are known to suffer from high blood pressure and early heart diseases thus affecting longevity.

Stop nagging: People who engage in heated arguments frequently, especially married couples or at the workplace, are more likely to have health troubles, such as hardening of arteries or atherosclerosis.

Pets are a means to long life: Pet holders are less stressed and have lower blood pressure. Having pets stimulates exercise.
