On the Road of Mysticism
During a retreat I had, I was inspired to compose this reflection about a person's spiritual journey.
On alleys unknown the pilgrim journeyed smoothly
Held by the hand of the Morning Star so gently
On the path of Wisdom in Her incarnation took lovingly
This blind on the wings of contemplation soars up swiftly.
The limping search led into the tunnel of darkness
Emptiness reached, the deep abyss of nothingness
Her brightness blinds… so painful to endure
And his shadow appears before Her immense grandeur.
Tasted the sweetness of Wisdom Incarnate
Touched by Her caress gentle and passionate
Smelled Her aromatic and seductive fragrance
He swings to the rhythm of Her divine dance.
With the Cross, Her embrace on the bed of love's sweetness
With Mary, in perfect surrender to her maternal tenderness
The Spirit, recreating flame of love without fickleness
Transforms the old to complete newness.
An indelible experiential knowledge of God's love
Is forged by the Fire of this Great Dove
Molded in the cave of his opened heart
In the model of Love's first Piece of Art.
The River of Peace flooded the cave
The Fountain of Love overflowed on this slave
The Ocean of Joy outpoured the lake
All these She only can grant and wonderfully make.
Now Wisdom's mysteries in continuous contemplation
Her Cross a sweet constant friend and companion
Creation, always to him in ecstatic conversation
Mary, his fruitful Tree keeping Her intimate union.
Experience alone makes one to comprehend and understand
What these pregnant words mean and to what they stand
Let's take this road of love and we will be oned
With God and all the blessed in their blissful bond.
