How to Enjoy Labor Day Holiday for Less

Labor Day celebration does not always have to be an expensive trip. If you are tight on budget, you don’t have to go far in order to enjoy the Labor Day holiday. Stay cation or vacation spent locally can also be fun as long as it is well planned and spent with your family or friends.

HIKING, MOUNTAIN BIKING, PICNIC. I really love hiking! The feeling of being close to nature and far away from the city stress is priceless, not to mention the health benefits that you get from it. If you have never hiked before, I would strongly suggest you try it this coming Labor Day holiday. Nothing beats seeing the sunrise or sunset from the top.

Mountain biking and picnic can also be fun for the whole family or group of friends. Check out the popular trails in your area and enjoy the adventure. Just remember to video or it didn’t happen (VOIDH).

GUITAR HERO PARTY. How cool is it to see the whole family enjoying a Guitar Hero gig? Guitar Hero game is not only for teens, it can also be very much enjoyable to every members of the family. Aside from family, you can invite friends to come over for a Guitar Hero party… now that would look like a live concert. Few drinks and some finger foods and everyone is going to have some fun.

KAYAKING, CANOEING, FISHING, PADDLE BOATING. These activities can lead to amazing experiences by exploring beautiful bodies of water, wildlife, reservoirs, quiet creeks, and flat river waters. Aside from the fact that it’s cheap and good exercise, it can also develop teamwork for groups and provide healthy risk taking for people of different ages. If you are living near New York City, you can go to Governor’s Island and they offer these activities for a lot less.

BASEBALL GAME. Baseball season is not yet over and Labor Day holiday can be a great opportunity to go watch a game with family or group of friends. If Major League Baseball is a little bit over the budget, you can always look for a Minor League Baseball in your area. It still offers a great level of fun and excitement.

LOCAL SIGHTSEEING. Most of the time, we go somewhere else to spend holidays or long weekends. How about exploring your local attractions for this coming Labor Day holiday? Check your area for local events and sightseeing activities like museums, shoreline day cruises, zoo, fireworks display, botanical gardens, bus city tours, Broadway shows, parks, and parades. These can be enjoyable for the whole family especially for kids.

BEACH PARTY. Labor Day holiday is a sign that summer is about to end. So if you have not had a chance to enjoy the beach because of your busy sched, why not organize a beach party for your family or group of friends. Plan ahead if you choose to spend the night at the beach. Sound of the wave, clear night sky, and bonfire with family or friends is really fun. You can also do star gazing if you enjoy this hobby.

CAMPING. This is probably the most popular summer activity nowadays, not only for the fun and adventure but also it is inexpensive. If you will plan early, you might get lucky to find a campsite with recreation facilities like pool and other amenities. In fact there are campsites that gives you the opportunity to enjoy almost everything listed above. You may also look for campsite near lakes where you can go swimming… that’d be fun!

There are several ways to enjoy Labor Day holiday and you don’t have to go too far, you just have to try new things for a change.
