Is Our Water Making Us Fat and Unhealthy?

Are the chemicals put into our water for our “benefit” actually acting to make us sluggish and overweight. A host of other problems are present, too, if our premise is correct. Read On.

One reason why Americans are getting fatter and fatter, suffer from migraines, have drying skin, edema of the ankles and other problems is a lack of iodine in our thyroids and the other operating systems in our bodies.  Iodine is a mineral, almost a trace mineral because it is hard to find in our food that is needed in the thyroid gland.  Primarily iodine is found in seawater but in small amounts.  Soils are deficient in it and the farther from the ocean the less iodine is present.  Further, toxins called toxic halides… fluoride, bromine and chloride also displace iodine from the body.  Guess what’s in the US drinking water?  Chloride is in it to cleanse it of bacteria and Fluoride, a by product of Aluminum production, is there based on flawed science and corporate greed.  Research has shown that the toxic mineral is rather poor at preventing cavities.

Fluoride is the biggest threat because it is found in toothpaste and in your water supply. Every time you brush your teeth or drink from the tap, your body gets a little exposure to fluoride, leeching out the iodine the body has.  Fluoride is even absorbed through the skin during your shower.

If you live in America it is probable that you are iodine deficient!  We voters might want to petition the powers that be locally to stop putting fluoride in our water and use some other method of cleansing our water supply.  We need the iodine and that can be used in solution to cleanse the water instead of chloride.  It is well worth checking into.

According to a study of 4000 patients conducted by Dr. David Brownstein, Medical Director for The Center of Holistic Medicine, 96% of all people tested are iodine deficient!  If we are being milked of our iodine supply, this is not an unexpected finding. Plus, the World Health Organization estimates that 72% of the world’s population is being affected by iodine deficiency. They agree with the Good doctor.

Over the last 30 years, the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey I shows iodine levels have dropped 50% in the U.S.A. alone.  This shows us that the situation is getting worse.

What does this mean?  People without enough iodine in their bodies haven’t enough
iodine in their thyroids and that means they will have brain fog, insomnia, dry skin, swelling ankles, hair loss, tingling in hands and feet and cold hands and feet; plus, a the patient will be lethargic and gain weight instantly with every mouthful.  Sound familiar?    Well, that’s instant verification that a lack of iodine is most likely present.

Before you run to your doctor and have your thyroid tested, the bad news is the test can show your gland is working.  With this empiric evidence in hand, doctor will tell you it is all imagined or due to your weight, or lack of exercise, anything but the facts.  If you do manage to get the medical professional to prescribe more iodine, it will take a prescription.  And you might want to go with that if you have money enough for it or good insurance, assuming the insurance will pay for it.  If you are taking such medicines, have blood thyroid levels checked so as not to over do it if you buy and consume this balanced formula.  Ideally, it will go a long way toward straightening out your health.

The Women’s Health Institute of Texas prescribes Iodine Plus 2 which you can buy online.  That’s about ten dollars a month and can be gotten without a prescription. The reason this is mentioned is because over-the-counter supplements usually available are too weak to supply what is needed.

Until we can get our urban water supplies amended it pays to have your water filtered with any of the home-purifier systems.  I have a pitcher of filtered water chilled in the fridge. Do likewise and use this filtered water in your coffee pots and water for cooking things like boiled potatoes.  Filters for the showers exist and are recommended because the chlorine in much of our water also scars the arteries which traps plaque into them which reduces blood flow. * * *
