Are you fretting because you need to capture a screenshot using Windows Vista but don't know how? Well, fret no more because one of the great features of Windows Vista is that it contains a built in program to capture a screenshot with ease. If you are a computer savvy person, you can use your screenshots to teach online computer tutorials. Adding the screenshots will make it easier for your student to "see" what you are teaching them without them actually performing the action themselves.

  1. Open the page that you would like to take a screenshot of.

  2. Click on your Windows Vista start menu. Click on your file search option. Inside of the search box type "Snipping Tool." Click on the Snipping Tool to open the program.

  3. Click on the "New" option. Select the shape that you would like for your screenshot to be. You will then see a "+" symbol appear on your screen.

  4. Drag the + symbol over the area you would like to capture in the screenshot. After capturing your screenshot, you will see options at the top of the Snippet Tool that will allow you to edit the screenshot. After capturing the screenshot you will also be able to set the border color. By default, the border color will be red.

  5. Click "File." Click "Save As." Type in the name you would like to save your screenshot as. The screenshot can be saved as a .jpeg, .gif, .png, or .html file. Click "Save." Your screenshot will appear in your "Pictures" folder.
