How to Get Cell Phone Service for $5 per Month from Virgin Mobile

This is how to pay $5 a month for cell phone service from Virgin Mobile

Purchase a Virgin Mobile Pay As You Go Phone. You can go to Target, Walmart or any other store that carries Virgin Mobile Pay As You Go Cell Phones. Choose the one you like, you can get a standard no frills model for $9.99 at most stores. Then, do NOT buy the minute cards from the store. Go home, get online and set up your cell phone from the Virgin Mobile website. Choose the "automatic top up of $15 every 90 days" charged to your credit card, Paypal account or have it deducted from your bank account. This is how it comes out to $5 a month.

Virgin Mobile does not outwardly advertise this $5 a month deal, but if you read the fine print as you are setting up your cell phone online, you will see it.

Decide if this would work as a regular cell phone for you, or if you want it just for an emergency cell phone, with the occasional "honey I'm running late" type call. It works out to 25 minutes a month since this plan charges $0.20 a minute. The unused minutes do roll over to the next month, as long as you top up and keep your account active.

If you are signing up online, you will be asked if you have a promo code. You can find these on the internet by searching for "Virgin Mobile Promo Code" using your favorite search engine. Most of the time these codes will get you an additional 60 minutes for free. Periodically Virgin Mobile will send you other offers to get additional minutes.

So it's true, talk really is cheap - if you don't do a lot of talking that is!
