Crock Pot recipe Broccoli Casserole in the slow cooker

This is such an easy Crock pot recipe - Broccoli casserole recipe and no hot oven is required! It is made in the slow cooker.

If you have a crock pot, you already know how convenient it is.  You throw the stuff in there, and come back a few hours later and dinner is ready.  It's kind of like the cook comes while you are gone or busy. 

Sundays are particularly good days for crock pot cooking.  You come in the door from church with everyone hollering for lunch, and it is ready!  A crock pot can also save you a lot of money spent running through drive-throughs when you are too tired to cook or too hungry to wait.

This crock pot recipe broccoli casserole in the slow cooker is so easy.  You will find yourself fixing it time and again.

Ingredients:  2 packages prepackaged broccoli and rice( the dried kind with cheese sauce in a box--Rice a Roni makes one, and there are store brands.)

1 large bag frozen chopped broccoli

6 ounces mild cheddar cheese, cut or grated....You can substitute sliced sandwich cheese if that is all you have. 

margarine or butter called for on rice boxes

Seasoning salt, if desired

In your crock pot, place hot water and butter called for on the rice packages.  Remember to double it for the two boxes.

Add rice, broccoli, and cheese, reserving some to sprinkle on the top.

Lightly sprinkle top with seasoning salt.

Cook on high for three hours. 

If you fix it when you get up on Sunday morning, it will be ready after church.
