How to Make Home-style Stuffed Green Peppers
I just loved it when my grandma made her famous stuffed green peppers. She never gave me her exact recipe, but with much trial and error I think I finally got it.
Stuffed Green Peppers
INGREDIENTS
LETS GET STARTED
- Preheat oven to 350. In a large frying pan brown ground beef, ground sausage, and Lipton onion soup mix together. Once the meat begins to brown add the diced red and yellow peppers, onions, and minced garlic. Sauté together until onions are translucent.
- Drain all the grease off the ground beef mixture and transfer mixture to a large bowl. In a large bowl-add to the beef mixture 3/4 can of Hunts Meatloaf Seasoning, 1 cup cooked rice, salt, and pepper. Stir together.
- Cut the tops off the green peppers and fully removed the insides of the peppers. Stuff the peppers with the beef mixture and place peppers in a shallow casserole dish.
- Finish by topping of the peppers with the remainder of the meatloaf seasoning and then sprinkle with bread crumbs. Cover with foil and bake for about 35 minutes. Serve hot and Enjoy!!
TIPS
- There are various ways this recipe can be atlered. You may wanna try using long grain wild rice instead of white. You can also try adding cheese under the bread crumbs instead of the remainder meatloaf seasoning.
