Airedale Terriers originate from Yorkshire,  England and a member of a numerous assortment of terrier breeds.The Airedale is the largest size of the terrier category with specific characteristics that set them apart from the others. In spite of their size these canines are an extremely agile dog with wonderful playfulness.They are well suited for a family pet, however because of their dominant trait, they need special training to interact with other dogs, especially smaller ones.

 Airedale Terriers will range from 55 to 60 pounds and will stand 23 inches tall. The life expectancy is 10 to 13 years. Colors of this gentle canine are black and camel bodies with black noses.

Grooming is substancial including combing every other week along with monthly clipping of the wiry hair they possess. Attention to the Airedale Terrier hygienic needs will keep shedding to a minimum allowing this pet to be more suitable in the home as well.

Physical characteristics include a long flat head, a very dense and wiry hard coat with a beard hanging from the jowls.  An unmistakeable set of "V" shaped ears can be folded back as the mood of this dog breed changes. 

The strength and intelligence of the Airedale Terrier support a good guard dog because of their fearlessness and bravery. They tend to get bored and will appear to have forgotten a trick simply because they are annoyed with a task they have already mastered. The Terrier is an excellent breed and there are so many different types of Terriers. They are friendly, loyal and beautiful. Another excellent article!
