Give your blog a fresh look with one of the countless free Blogger templates available online.

There are two ways in which you can change your template in Blogger.

A. If you want to switch to another template from the default Blogger package, you can do it in a few easy steps:

1. Log into your Blogger / Google account.

2. Go to the blog you want to change and click Customize.

3. Go to the Layout tab, then click Choose New Template. This will take you to the list of templates that are part of the default Blogger package.

4. Most of the templates come in several versions. As you tick them, you will see the thumbnail preview change instantly. Choose the one you like.

5. To preview the new template, click Preview template.

6. To switch to the new template, click Save Template

B. If you’re not happy with any of the templates available by default, the Internet offers you a great choice. To upload a Blogger template from another site, follow the steps below:

1. Save the template to your local disk by clicking the Download button. Choose the desired location in the Save As box. Leave the extension unchanged.

2. In most cases, your template will be saved in ZIP format. Before you can use it, you’ll have to unzip it first. To do that, use a file archiving program such as WinZip or WinRAR.

3. Log into your Blogger / Google account.

4. Go to the blog you want to change and click Customize.

5. Go to the Layout tab, then click Edit HTML.

6. Before you upload a new template, it is recommended to save the old one just in case, especially if you’ve made changes to it or personalized it in any way. To do that, click Download Full Template. If you’re using an unmodified default template, you can skip this step.

7. Go to Upload a template from a file on your hard drive and click Choose. Go to the location where you saved the template, select the unzipped XML file and click Open.

8. Click Upload.

9. At this stage you might get a message telling you that some of your widgets are going to be deleted. If you have some important code that you don’t want to lose, click Cancel and go back to that specific widget to copy-paste the code in a text file and save it for later use. If not, just click Confirm and Save. You can always put the widgets back after you upload the new template.

10. Click View Blog and admire the fresh new look. You’ve done it!
