Do you catch yourself whining over a hard day at job, misbehaving kids, your miserable life, and all the world more often than enjoying your daily routines? Then, for all your miseries, you should most likely blame your own attitude rather than the circumstancies. The good news: it is easier than you think to smile more often.

Do you catch yourself whining over a hard day at job, misbehaving kids, your miserable life, and all
the world more often than enjoying your daily routines? Then, for all your miseries, you should most
likely blame your own attitude rather than the circumstances. The good news: it is easier than you
think to smile more often.

Start your day with a smile

It happens to everyone to "step out of the bed with a wrong leg", but, you can actually start most of
your days with a good mood. An excellent start is 10 minutes of sun salutation (a simple yoga exercise
manageable by anyone), but you can find out your own treat - diary writing (the morning exercise of the
XXIst century), jogging in the park, aromatic soap in the shower, etc. You do have at least a few
minutes for yourself. Physical exercise, even a simple one, will wake you up intermediately, and give a
good feeling.

Eat healthy breakfast

A good start of the day is already half way to a good entire day. After your exercise, serve yourself a
tasty and healthy meal. Fruit, milk, and full-corn cereal are excellent. Sweat breakfast will make you
feel hungry and tired much earlier than the lunch hour. Aim for healthy carbs, i.e., rich in fiber,
that are absorbed slowly, and keep you awake and happy for a longer time.

Take breaks

It is a pity, how often we get drowned in the sea of our never-ending routine tasks. Even if you are overloaded with new projects, kids, and all the troubles of the world, short breaks will not make it worse. Rather, the opposite – with the new energy, you will be able to move mountains. Do sports, laugh, enjoy meals with friends. There is nothing that cannot wait.

Save your voice for emergencies

Do you happen to scream on your colleagues, kids, spouse, parents more often than needed? It is way
more efficient to state your opinion in a calm but confident voice. It is a myth that arguments
improve your relationship, a constructive discussion is what you should aim for.

Life happens here and now

Do not delay your life until you have a new house, lose weight, have kids, get a new job... there will always be something else to reach for, but this does not mean that your every day cannot be enjoyable. Evaluate what you have, appreciate your friends, colleagues, and job for what they are, rather than curse them for what they are not. Help people that are more disadvantaged, and you will realize that you are the lucky one.
