To make green tea, we have to follow certain steps as it is not the same as that of ordinary black tea.

Green tea is very beneficial to health. It is of Asian origin. It helps to clean the system of the body. Its thermogenic properties help to burn the calories of the body efficiently and results in weight loss. It helps to be fit if taken three times a day. It helps to reduce cholesterol and control blood pressure and blood sugar. It contains a high amount of antioxidants.

Some precautions must be taken while preserving green tea at home. The tea must not be kept in sunshine, at high temperature and humidity. Its essential benefits get lost when comes in contact with fingers and oil. It must be kept in a plastic zip bag and in lower refrigerator.

Green tea is not prepared in the same manner as black tea is prepared. Always follow the manufacturer’s process if given on the pack otherwise you can prepare green tea by a general process. For preparing green tea:

1. Pour some distilled water into a ceramic pot and place it over low heat.

2. Do not boil the water. Wait until the water starts steaming and you can see very small bubbles emitting from it. Do not allow the water to boil. Turn off the heat the moment water starts steaming (before boiling).

3. Now pour the steaming water over the teabag in the teacup or mug (whichever you do use).

4. Leave the tea to steep for about 3-4 minutes. Remember not to leave it for more than five minutes. It will make it bitter. Steeping in boiling water will also make it bitter.

5. Green tea is ready to be served.

Do not use sugar and milk for making green tea. If you feel the tea is bitter, then you can add some sugar substitute.

The most important thing is that you must sip the tea slowly to get the complete benefits from it. Do not drink it very fast. Drink three times a day and stay fit.
