A short summary of some of the skills required to become quite good at Call of Duty World at War on any system.

The Proning Strategy in Call of Duty World at War
Unless you're perfectly confident you will not be found, going Prone Is not recommended. It confines your ability to look around, operate, and leaves you a easy mark for an assailant Melee Attack. Of course, more accomplished players will know when and where to apply the Prone function, and this will likewise come to you in time. Until you're that hardened, your better choices are to hunker down and/or lean from behind cover. This will allow you to look about and run in an emergency (e.g., a grenade thrust into your camp).

Aiming Down Sights in Call of Duty World at War
Using ADS (Aim Down Sight) is a bang-up habit to develop a  affiliation to. Because mentioned inside "armed combat Tips," a lot of the best players will apply ADS during just about every encounter. Although there are times while spraying is superior, ADS can and will make you a killing machine whenever you dominate it. Even if it feels clumsy at first, give it a whirl.

Sensitivity in Call of Duty World at War
Adapt your sensitivity and button configuration for greatest mobility. If you've ever questioned how your enemies have apparently grown eyes in the backs of their heads, it has partially been due to their high mouse/analog sensitiveness. They can spin rapidly and with a simple flicker of their wrists, and you should try that, too. For a few players, this can be a disorientating adjustment, and possibly nauseating. If that applies to you, do not stress yourself, but if you are able to alter this and continue to love your Call of Duty experience, do so. A soldier who often uses ADS and whips around at a millisecond's notice is a force to be considered with fear.

Grenades in Call of Duty World at War
Don't be apprehensive of cooking and employing grenades. They're a valuable resource, but if you're being cut down from enemies and you have not employed a single one of them, it is time you accepted your explosive revenge. It's strongly advised, all the same, that you cook them -- namely, hold them till they're about to explode -- before throwing. In response, your opponents will either attempt to run away or pick it up and give it back, and if your timing is to perfection, they'll escape with neither. Additionally, if you're besieged and you acknowledge you're going out, you might also do it a la mode. Start cooking a grenade, and leave a gift behind.

Melee attacks in Call of Duty World at War
Even as well, don't be afeard of employing your Melee assault. Whenever you creep up on a sniper, rush up a staircase, or are otherwise up close and face-to-face with an adversary, feel free to melee them. Although a few players view this as an insult, it's candidly an effective method that will assist you in conserving your ammo and conserve your momentum. It is more of value than most give it credit for, and it is recommended that you attempt assigning this function to an easily reached key/button and apply it during combat.

Weapons and ammo in Call of Duty World at War
Try to accumulate weapons that will assist you well in more than one class, and avoid the others. For instance, if you are on a map with a lot of open spaces but as well an average amount of compressed ones, a Type 100 is marvellous. It has an excellent all-around gun that is knifelike accuracy from afar, fair power up close, and big ammo clips. In the meantime, heavy machine guns like the Browning M1919 are -- to the mediocre fellow -- only good for shooting through flimsy walls and catching foes by storm. Versatility is the key, and because your skills excel, you will learn to use about any gun in whatever situation, but don't pressure yourself into doing that immediately. There is no more shame in using a general-purpose gun, particularly if it leads you to victory. Eventually you should move away from only using light machine guns, especially the MP-40 as it is considered the most noobie of weapons.

Jumping in Call of Duty World at War
If you are going to jump repeatedly -- thereby performing the "bunny hop" -- do not do so in a sure manner. Although bounding every so often is a good headshot deterrent, fairly accomplished adversaries will watch you, quickly realize your approach pattern, and take you down. The only way to prevent this is to apply the jump sparingly instead of predictably. On your run across a big, open field, you might jump once initially, make some distance, and then jump once again -- that is all right. Jumping every step of the way turns you into an easy-to-shoot (if bouncy) target.

In brief, don't let yourself fall under patterns. Do not camp in the same exact spot, do not jump every step of the way, and do not explore the same parts of the map. Employing some strategy and variety to your methods will aid you climb the rankings and make a name for yourself. At the very smallest, even if you don't care about your online repute, you will live longest and have more fun. You do not have to be perfect, but you also do not merit to be frustrated and disappointed. You will get to score and your teammates will appreciate you. Win-win, eh? Don't you want to be helpful to your teamates as well as do a lot less dying! Apply the things we've learned and have fun!
