Over time, I have seen many rune miners die due to improper equipment, inventory, and knowledge. Due to this, I have made this guide to make sure them Pkers can't kill us. Also the Revenants will always splash :).

There is only one place to mine Runite Ore in F2P and that is north of the Lava Maze. There are two rocks with nearby
Deadly Red Spiders (Level-37
).
The Runite Ore
Price: [mid] 17600gp (link)
Examine: This needs refining.
This is the location and how to get there (read section 3 first!):

- To mine a Rune Rock, you need 85 Mining or 84 drinking a Dwarven Stout.
- Fuller worlds = faster respawns (1950+ player worlds have 11 minute respawns while 200 player worlds have ~20 minute respawns).
2.1 -
Scouts
Scouts are very important when mining Runite Ore. They help you avoid being surprised by Pkers or Revenants. They should be at least level 20 combat to be able to enter PvP worlds. Place them in this picture behind the tree. You won't be hit by a revenant as long as you're behind this tree. You shouldn't have anything on your scout other than food (for the scout and your rune miner).

That is it for the basics.

3.0 -

This is the most important part. If you do not have the proper equipment, you can very easily die to PKers or Revenants.
If you want to mine ore on both type of worlds, then use equipment for PvP Worlds and inventory for Normal Worlds
.
3.1
PvP Worlds
This type of setup is the best. It has high range defense bonus, decent magic bonus which is high enough to make binding splash, and good slash defense. If you are attacked by a Mager & a Meleer, pray melee. If by Mage & Range, pray range. If by Mage, Range, and Melee, pray melee. If by a mage/melee hybrid, pray melee always.

80+ Defense

- Amulet of Power
- Magical Staff (fire, earth, water, air)
- Rune Full Helm
- Rune Kiteshield
- Green D'hide Body
- Rune Platelegs or Plateskirt*
- Green D'hide Vambs
- Cape
- Leather Boots
*I'm using Zamorak Plateskirt because it is my lucky skirt :)

- Rune Pickaxe
- 11 Swordfish (14hp) or Anchovie Pizza (16hp, 2 bite)*
- Lumbridge Teleport** [optional]
*I prefer to use Swordfish because when you're being attacked, you are being constantly hit and you need fast healing.
**If you feel that you are not safe (will die) in either PvP or normal world, you should take this. It can be very helpful when you are walking to BH bank and your hitpoints are low.
3.2 -
Normal Worlds
There is not much difference from PvP worlds although the danger is still there. A level 105 Revenant (most common around here) can hit in the 20s with all types of attacks and has a high of 29 with melee. While the level 126 revenant hits 25s with range & magic and a high of 31 with melee. A players max hit with range is 18, magic is 16 (although I have heard of people doing 17s using druidic robes and all that), and melee 31. A single revenant (105 or 126) is most likely to kill you than a level 126 player who is using range/mage/melee hybrid.
Equipment doesn't differ, inventory does.

4.0 -

When attacked, it is crucial you know what to do instead of running around depleting your food.
4.1 -
PvP Worlds
When attacked follow this map. Make sure you run THROUGH the nearby spiders then run all the way to Ice Giants & Ice Warriors, then run south until you see a high concentration of warriors. They will get tired and log, or you can run to spot #1 and log.
ALWAYS have you staff equipped. What to have on you if. The equipment I siad in section 3.1 should remain the same and you will survive if you use it accordingly:
type,type|prayer
Range, Melee| Melee
Range, Magic | Range
Magic, Melee | Melee
Range, Magic, Melee | Melee

4.2 - Normal Worlds
It is easier to get away from a Revenant (even though they hit high) than it is from a group of PKers or a single pker. Just follow the map, put your chap and dragon fire shield on and pray range.
You might be thinking: "I have super low range def if I put on a chap, anti fire shield, and pray range! range will own me yo!" but you're wrong. Here is evidence from Jagex (their guide on the Prayer skill). Meaning that mage will hit very low and range will not hit at all:

Close the door once you're at altar. The revenant(s) will be trapped outside. Hop to another world. Sometimes they follow you to another world and sometimes they don't. The map:

When you are on full load, you should be more careful. When you have 2 foods and all other spaces (except pickaxe, Lumbridge teleport, and other items) you should start heading out. Follow this map and you will be safe.
Follow the line depending on where you're. The
red line
represents PvP worlds (follow the red line in PvP worlds) while the
blue line
represents a normal world.
