Make the Most of your Time in the Navy (Even if You Decide It's Not For You)

How to make the best of the situation in the navy if you realize you made a mistake.

We make many mistakes in life when were young. The most important decision we make is what we learn from these mistakes and whether we make them again. You may come to the realization that the rigid and regimented life of the navy is not for you. This is not the end of the world, you can still take advantage of your situation.

Early on in the navy you might think you've made a mistake by joining because you don't fit in. That's ok, not everyone will fit in everywhere. Fortunately there are many opportunities to take advantage of in the Navy. Many of your expenses are taken care of so you won't have the stress of paying rent and other regular expenses. There are many free activities on base. You can get a free gym membership and work out with friends. They also have a cool place on base to watch movies, read and use computers. Begin saving money for the future. If you are frugal and invest well, you could have over $20,000 when you get out. This would be a great foundation to build from.

You will learn many new skills and meet many new people. You will spend alot of time traveling the world learning about new cultures. Take advantage and use it to write great articles for Ehow. make sure to take many pictures of your travels. Starting a blog and using the pics would be an ideal situation. A well written blog with great pics could earn you good money.

Take advantage of free college classes and begin thinking about the direction you want to take your career after the navy. I think the greatest thing you can take away from your experience is the success of sticking with something and growing from it. You will be way ahead in so many ways. Make sure to share what you've learned.
