Filipinos are known for their ability to communicate clearly using the English language. In fact, many are able to mimic the American and British English accent. Through this skill, many foreign investors are enticed to start a call center business in the country.

If you are now set to work for a call center, it is important that you are aware of the benefits as well as what you should look into before you even sign that contract.

Safety

You have to make sure that your work location is safe from potential harm. If it is hard to commute to get to your workplace, better think twice. If possible, rent a place near your job location.

Vacation Leave Credits

There are different ways to earn Vacation Leave Credits. Some companies will offer you 15 leave credits as soon as you join their team. Others offer this in an accrual basis. For instance, you accrue 1 leave credit per month and another leave credit if you work on a holiday. It would be even better if that company offers an additional pay apart from the leave credit you accrue on that particular holiday.

Sick Leave Credits

Getting sick is a common challenge or hindrance for one to perform. This is what sick leave credits are for. Availing your leave credits, you can go to the doctor and rest without even compromising your day’s salary.

Health Benefit

If you are sick, your doctor’s appoint, laboratory works and hospitalization should be covered by your company. With your health benefit, you are confident that getting sick will not be an added expense on your end. Try to look for companies that offer extended health benefits to your immediate family.

Take note, this benefit should be free. For your extended family members, some companies will require you to pay a fairly low monthly fee, other companies assume all cost even for your family members as well.

Government Initiated Benefits (Pag-ibig,SSS, Philhealth, Night differential )

Pag-ibig

Your monthly contribution for Pag-ibig should be shared between you and your employer, 50% should come from and half of the amount should be paid by your employer.

Pag-ibig is a government program that will allow you to acquire home at a lower cost, stretching the terms of payment from 5 to 30 years.

Social Security System or SSS

This benefit is very essential. When you retire, this will serve as your monthly pension. At the same time, you can depend on this if you have some emergency financial needs; you can apply for a salary loan.

Night Differential

Remember, most call center jobs are on the night shift, otherwise known as the graveyard shift. It is important that you must have a night differential pay if your shift starts from 10 o’clock PM to 6 o’clock AM.

Allowances

Majority of the call centers here in the Philippines offer different kinds of allowances. The most common ones are Meal and Transportation Allowance. Some companies offer Clothing, Rice, and even Cell phone Allowance.

See the perks and benefits that you deserve when you work for a call center? This industry is indeed very promising. Guided by this list, may you enjoy your career in the Call Center Industry.
