Green Smoke

I recently became affiliated with a company called Green Smoke, a company that makes electronic cigarettes. Yes, it is a good money opportunity (or I hope it will be), and I have been looking for ways to earn a bit more money, but that is not the only reason I joined.

I am currently living in a city where everyone smokes - and I mean everyone! The little old lady who has to carry an oxygen tank around with her everywhere.  The pregnant woman - or the pregnant woman’s husband, if she has managed to quit.  The group of mothers huddling around their young children.  The (many) people living on the street.  The family that can barely afford to eat.  The doctors, the teachers, the… well, you get the idea.  The entire city smokes.

Given the fact that the entire city is also slowly losing their jobs as the mines start shutting down, they are also spending a lot of what they have on cigarettes instead of important things like food.  The people stuck on the streets don’t even ask for money anymore! They just ask if you happen to have a cigarette.

So, me being a pregnant woman who has never smoked a day in her life - with a husband who has managed to quit for the sake of the baby - I wanted to start making a bit of a difference in this city.

Most of the people here have been smoking their whole lives and are adamant that they will never quit.  So I’m not asking them to quit.  I’m just asking them to try a new kind of cigarette - one that won’t give them lung cancer, won’t hurt the people and kids around them, and won’t send me into coughing fits every time I walk out of my house.  Not to mention the fact that it would save them a lot of well-needed cash.

The company doesn’t claim that it will help you quit, but it is certainly a healthier alternative, and solves many of the problems that drive people to quitting in the first place.

There is no smoke, no second hand smoke.  It does look like you’re exhaling smoke, but it’s only water vapor.  There is nothing that would normally be found in a cigarette except the nicotine.  So you satisfy the addiction without further damaging your lungs, without passing harmful chemicals on to your loved ones, and without having everything you own reek of cigarette smoke.
