How You Really Earn At Bukisa

Aug 10th, 2009 by UmiNoor

Bukisa provides an outlet for writers who have never been published before to submit content and get paid for doing so. But do you know how your earnings are calculated?

Bukisa, like many other sites, has monetized its sites with various ads. This is how Bukisa makes money. From this revenue, Bukisa shares a portion with the writers whose articles appear alongside the ads.

Don't forget to leave a comment for the author so he can know what you think of his article and he can pay your profile a visit to thank you for your comment.

According to Bukisa, earnings of writers are calculated based on the qualified view that their articles received. You must understand that qualified views and pageviews are two totally different concept. You may get 10 pageviews but your qualified views are only 5. How can this happen?

Let's look at the definition of qualified views. According to Wikipedia, a qualified view is one that comes from "a unique visitor" which is "a statistic describing a unit of traffic to a website, counting each visitor only once in the time frame of the report (24 hours)".

What does this mean? This means that when one person views the same article of yours ten times within a period of 24 hours, this will constitute as one qualified view. However, if this person views all ten different articles of yours once each, this will give you 10 qualified views. So, it's good to have written 10 related articles where you can point to the reader where to go next after reading one of your articles. So, put links in your articles that will send readers to your other articles and this will increase your qualified views and your earnings.

To further increase your earnings at Bukisa, you may want to widen your network by inviting your family and friends to join Bukisa. This way you will have another passive income stream as you will also earn of the income that your network generates from their content. So, don't just depend on your articles. Invite, persuade or coerce your family and friends to join Bukisa. If they need a reason to join Bukisa, let them read my article Google Loves Bukisa and see if they are not persuaded. They may not know it yet but there's a writer in each one of us. Join my network if you haven't already.

UPDATE : As of January 2011, Bukisa has discontinued the Bukisa index and has allowed its members to integrate their Adsense accounts with their Bukisa accounts. The referral system has also been discontinued so it is NOT a way to earn money at Bukisa any more. Bukisa will no longer be paying directly to its members instead Bukisa members will be paid either by Google or Chitika.

I thought the only way to earn money through Bukisa was through clicks on ads. Do you have an updated article since this rule was changed? Or did I just read it incorrectly?

hi rowanmine, In your comment U have said ‘put your referral link in your articles’. as per my knowledg, bukisa does not allow links to other web pages where we try to get some visitors . So what is the use of putting any referrals in any articles? which referral link/s do U mean? And I think there is no sense in putting our own bukisa referral link in bukisa articles itself. I will appreciate if U could clarify this point as an answer to this comment. Thank U.

I don’t think you’re meant to encourage people to click on the ads, but otherwise good article. The way to make money in Bukisa is to write a lot, and put your referral link in your articles, perhaps even as a banner ad. Check out my articles for more good advice.
