Are All Make Money Online Programs Scams?

Aug 8th, 2009 by UmiNoor

Everyday thousands of newbies go online in the hope of making money. Many are scammed into programs that make ridiculous promises. There are legitimate programs that do deliver. How to evaluate which program is legit and which is just outright scams?

Many newbies go online in the hope of making money. Armed with this knowledge, unscrupulous internet marketers take advantage of this group's inexperience to sell them bogus programs that only deplete this group's already little resources they possess.

In this article, I'm going to tell you a story to illustrate the situation that many newbies find themselves in. I'm going to name the character in my story Eric.

Eric has always wanted to climb Mt Everest. He's made it his lifelong ambition and quest to be at the top of this majestic mountain before he dies. So, when an organizer claimed that he can help Eric do just that, he was ecstatic. Furthermore, the organizer told Eric that he doesn't need to get fit, doesn't need to learn the native's language, doesn't need a guide and doesn't need to get climbing equipment for the journey. Because the organizer has created a magic elevator that will bring Eric to the top of the mountain in a matter of seconds. This elevator is one of its kind and has served many in the past who wish to climb Mt Everest. The organizer then presented Eric with testimonials from satisfied customers.

Eric was impressed by the organizer's exorbitant claims. Furthermore, the organizer said this was a one time offer that will never be seen again if Eric didn't grab it immediately. And, being the first few who was offered this "opportunity", Eric will be given a massive 50% discount off the normal price.

Eric bought the program. He flew to India and at the foot of the mountain went looking for the magic elevator. Do you think he find it? You and I know there's no such thing as a magic elevator. But Eric, being gullible, didn't know any better.

Does the story above sound familiar? Many internet marketing programs give you a one-time offer. Grab it now or never see the program being offered again. This method is to give the urgency that will push people to make an impulsive purchase especially if the price is quite affordable. It is an effective marketing technique to see an explosive sale in a short time. Be wary of this kind of offer. If a program is good, there's no need to make such one-time offer. This kind of one-time offer is used so as to push people to buy on impulse without investigating the offer first.

I, myself, have encountered this one-time offer countless of times. Sometimes I almost got taken in but when I came to my senses and use my brain, I didn't buy into the program because most often than not these programs are written by professional writers and not by people who have actually made money from the program. Think about it. If they have the secret to making a lot of money online, why should they want to share it with you? That will only mean competition for themselves. These people earn money by selling the programs to unsuspecting newbies and not by doing what they've preached in their programs.

Another characteristic of most internet programs is their exorbitant claims of being able to help you make money within a short time without any experience, any knowledge or hard work. You and I know that like any other businesses, online businesses too require knowledge and hard work. Read my article The Truth About Making Money Online and see what misconceptions these so-called internet gurus have spouted. Even making money as easy as writing for Bukisa requires a lot of hard work. Those who buy into such programs lack knowledge; that's why they can believe the claims made on the sales page.

Some of you might say that you have bought programs that help you make money. Congratulations. Not all programs are bogus but to sift through the legit ones and the scammers require a little patience. When you do your research for the best way to make money online, hide your credit cards. This way you'll not be tempted to buy. Many of these scammers know which button to push to make you purchase their programs. They feed on people's greed. And to protect yourself, remember this: If the offer is too good to be true, it may well be just that.

Never buy anything online, except maybe a domain name, hosting, and pay per click advertising. If you don’t know how to do all that, then Bukisa is the best opportunity online that I know of.

Yes, you are so right here. I have bought quite a number of e-books promising that I would get a lot of income online. And I’ve spend fortunes on those books. Yet again, I’m still here not making money at all online. I’m not buying any of those books anymore. I’ll just read your articles now and then.
