Born on the Cusp
Astrology is a very interesting field and an excellent tool of self-knowledge. This article explores the characteristics of those born on the cusp of two signs and what that means.
You may think that your sun sign doesn’t really correspond to the blueprint of your personality, and there might be a very good reason for it: if you were born on the cusp, your personality may display the mixed characteristics of two signs. Few people realise that the cusp is actually a period of time of about four days, and not the actual day when the sun sign shifts into the next.
Cusp people usually feel comfortable with other cusp people and have a broader spectrum of responses and views, influenced by both signs: these influences are often in sharp contrast, so their personalities often have a depth that is unique to their particular combination.
If you were born of the following dates (or you know someone who was), this might be the key for you to understand your complex personality.
Also, you might not be born on the cusp, but if you have a strong influence in your natal chart of any two adjacent signs, this might be pertinent to you: for example sun sign-rising sign, moon-rising sign, sun sign-moon in two adjacent signs.
Pisces-Aries Cusp
March 19-24
The Pisces-Aries cusp personality is outspoken and often convinced of their own righteousness. They can’t be swayed into changing their mind and act on impulse, following their emotions more than any logic. What you see, you get. They carry the Piscean idealism and the fiery Arian attitude, which results in a somehow dogmatic personality, with a sense of infallibility. If you were born on this cusp you have to learn to ground yourself and avoid being possessed by your emotions. Suitable careers are charity worker, teacher, political activist.
Keywords: sensitivity and action. A puzzling mix of fiery characteristics with a lack of earthy grounding.
Born on the Pisces-Aries cusp: Matthew Broderick, Akira Kurosawa, Chaka Khan, Joan Crawford.
Aries-Taurus Cusp
April 19-24
People born on this cusp tend to dominate their environment and can establish themselves as excellent freelancers or in a self-employed capacity, teachers or leaders of any kind. If you are on this cusp you will strive for autonomy and will feel restricted if forced to submit to authority. This is a highly strategic personality and can overcome challenges that may seem impossible to others, they have an inbuilt sense of when to act and have infinite patience. The Aries-Taurus personality combines the fire and earth elements. Earth may balance the more fiery aspects of fire, but somehow restrict creativity.
Keywords: intuition and sensation. May display a lack of emotional sensitivity at times.
Born on the Aries-Taurus cusp: William Shakespeare, Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Lenin, Jack Nicholson, Jessica Lange, Daniel Day-Lewis, Queen Elisabeth II, Barbara Streisand, Shirley MacLaine.
Taurus-Gemini Cusp
May 19-24
The Taurus-Gemini personality combines the earth and air elements. Air may exhaust earth, creating a conflict between physical and mental needs. People born on this cusp have to be careful to avoid burnout and take regular breaks, as they can go on and on doing what they like to do! If you were born on this cusp, you have the determination of the fixed earth sign Taurus and the mental agility of Gemini, so if you are careful to recharge your battery once in a while, you can go on and on! Suitable careers would be singer, sales and marketing, corporate, vet, doctor.
Keywords: sensation and thinking. May not be in tune with their intuition, give excessive attention to small emotional issues and ignore other people’s emotional needs.
Born on the Taurus-Gemini cusp: Joan Collins, Honore de Balzac, Cher, Henri Russeau
Gemini-Cancer Cusp
June 19-24
The Gemini-Cancer personality integrate well the elements of Cancer and Gemini. The altruistic streak of Cancer blends well with the need for everything ‘communication’ of Gemini and if you were born on this cusp you will find that you are caring and very good at expressing love for your work or kin or friends. These people are drawn to service and they have a devotional streak. You are profound and able of deep feelings, yet very dynamic.
Keywords: communication and sensitivity.
Born on the Gemini-Cancer cusp: Benazir Bhutto, Cyndi Lauper, Meryl Streep, Jean-Paul Sartre.
Cancer-Leo Cusp
July 19-25
The Cancer-Leo personality is spontaneous and loves dynamism and movement: water and fire bring two distinct extremes to people born on this cusp and the personality will tend to express itself swinging between extremes, in mood, thought, emotion. People born on this cusp will love travel, adventure, sport. Movement in any form is important, and so is physical movement, which will give you balance and play a role in achieving personal awareness. Virgo-Libra Cusp
September 19-24

If you were born on this cusp, you may have a tendency to become materialistic, so watch out. Intuition and emotions don’t come as natural as beauty to these people and they should look at developing these sides of their personality.

If you were born on this cusp, you like to be prepared but you lack patience towards the ones who don’t share your vision. Your moods can be indeed intense and they need to be smoothened a bit, and you need to open up to others a bit more.
