How to Make a Cheap Witch Costume for Kids at Halloween

If your kids want to be a witch for Halloween, you can make your costume cheap. Mind you, not cheap looking, just not spending a bunch of cash to make your little one an expensive witch.

To be a cheap witch for your Halloween Costume, start with the idea of what type of witch you want to look like. Scan the internet pictures or look at magazines to find the perfect 'witch look.' Once you know what you are wanting to look like, then all you need to do is find the materials to make it happen. Here are steps to cut corners on your witch costume for Halloween.

1. Consider the base clothing to be clothing found in your closet. You will need a black shirt or blouse for the top. Also a witch has a black skirt, so see if you have any pieces that might be accomidating. These pieces are all ones that you don't need to buy special tand eavoid any necessary cash outlay.

2. Find yourself a cheap black pointed hat. The witch hat on all  Halloween Costumes look all pretty much the same. You can find your perfect witch hat sold seperately and this means a lot cheaper than ones sold in kits. Pay attention to those witch hats that are found in the costume isles of drug stores.

3. Find your much needed broom at the local thrift store. You will find all sorts of great accessories for your witch at second hand stores. The broom is especiallly important part of your Halloween Witch Costume.

4. Now one of the most important features of a witch on Halloween is the face makeup. Here you create the individual witch for Halloween and allow kids, of all ages to be creative. When you are looking for witch face paint, consider the drug store or the dollar store to find the perfect choice. It will be less money and allow you to be very creative!

5. Every good witch needs halloween socks. Doesn't matter if that is striped orange and back, solid orange, or even purple. Look for off color tights at your local department store in the clothing department instead of the Halloween selection. It will be less expensive!

Every good Halloween witch costume needs to be a creative process where kids can share how they look while having fun. Don't make the whole halloween costume too serious, unless, your child insists.
