HOw can Adrian Peterson help his team out best this year? Can take the pressure off the quarterback position? I believe he can and i invite you reading just how.

The Minnesota Vikings are a very stand out team going into this season especially in most recent years due to drafting running back Adrian Peterson. Since drafting Peterson the Vikings have increased not only rushing performance but also winning percentage. This year the Vikings had a busy off season trading for Sage Rosenfels and then an inquiry of Brett Farve. Since Farve has turned down the job in Minnesota the competition goes back to Tarvaris Jackson who has been with the Vikings the last three years and Rosenfels. So does it really matter who gets the quarterback position? Well to a certain stand point it does however there are ways Adrian Peterson can take the pressure off the quarterback. In a lot of ways he is already doing this.

One way is for Peterson to continue running the way he has because he puts up great numbers and has shown the ability to take any given run to the house for six, teams pile eight and sometimes nine guys into the box. This is great for any quarterback as well as the receivers because this means there is likely to be no help over the top in terms of throwing the deep ball. Having defenses run happy also helps in the play action. In which I believe makes Tarvaris Jackson the best choice at qb for the Vikings because of his athletic ability he moves well and makes great decisions in play action. The play action also turns Peterson from a runner into a deco, even with the balls not in his hands he can still be rather dominant by selling the play action running hard as if he has the ball in his hands.

Another way that Peterson can help his quarterback is by making catches out of the back field whether it’s a screen, out, in or etc Peterson has the ability to turn the play into six points every time he touches the ball. I believe that he will be even more dominant in the passing game because he has been a problem going through defensive lineman, give him the ball in the open field and now well LOOK OUT!

Overall I believe this season for the Minnesota Vikings will depend on Peterson making the transition from being a good player to a great player. Great players make the players around them better, and if Peterson continues running hard make catches out of the back field and hold on to the football the Vikings will in fact improve. And as Tarvaris Jackson gets experience with the receivers and playing the players Peterson has helped make better will ease his own job. Once Jackson torches a few teams with Harvin and Berrian heavily this year teams will stop putting eight guys in the box which is scary!
