Prevent road rage

One of the increasing problems is the road rage. The drivers often become short tempered, stressed and angry while driving.

One of the increasing problems is the road rage. The drivers often become short tempered, stressed and angry while driving. They start feeling angry when sitting against the steering. The reason may be the increasing tough driving conditions.  But it can dangerous as it minimizes your thinking ability.

-Take proper rest: A tired person not only becomes angry soon but also is unable to respond appropriately while driving. So it is advisable that you take proper rest before driving so that you don’t have to go through these conditions.

-Avoid getting angry: it is not a good idea to engage yourself in argument while driving either over phone or with the passengers. Settle your grievances after you have reached your destination.

-Don’t think about your problems while driving: Some people before driving have done some fierce argument either at home or somewhere else and then keep on thinking about that argument throughout their way. This diverts your attention and most of the time you are not able to see what’s coming in your way. So once you’re on driving seat forget what happened and concentrate on your driving.

-Always be ready for unexpected: Adopt defensive driving techniques. This will ensure your safety even if others are not driving properly.

-Maintain distance: Maintain appropriate distance with the cars ahead. Especially with those drivers that are not driving properly. They may pose a serious threat to you and the ones traveling with you. If you feel that the driver is drunk, keep you car at a large distance and inform police. Do not wait for the last time to apply brakes. Apply brakes before time.

-Listen to soft music: Choose some enjoyable music that makes you relax and play when in car. You can also listen to music on radio but avoid talk shows as they may catch your attention making you ignorant of the surrounding.

-Remind yourself: Keep reminding yourself that road rage can prove fatal as you loose your focus from the driving. You may not want that to happen if you are not alone in the car. Keep the picture of your loved ones in your mind. That will keep you cool.

-Leave well before time: Whenever you want to reach some where important, try to leave for the place before time. Getting late for some where makes you feel stressed.

-Take rest at regular intervals when on long journey. This will relax your body and you will not feel stressed out.

-Balance your emotions: It is proved that people who often remain angry are more likely to suffer heart attacks. So avoid getting angry and keep your self healthy.

-Breathe deeply: inhaling and exhaling deeply helps in soothing down the anger.

-Safe driving: Avoid all those activities that make you angry and drive carefully and safely.

-Watch your manners: Be forgiving if someone has mad a mistake. No one is perfect and it is the nature of humans to make mistakes. So avoid screaming, shouting at others if they had committed any mistake.

-Schedule checkup with the doctor: If you get angry too often, then you need to get yourself checked by the doctor that you are not suffering from IED which stands for Intermittent Explosive Disorder. In this the person gets angry too often.
