On a warm summer day, or a cold winter's night, I love KFC's original chicken! It's crispy and crunchy, and just all together delicious!

To make KFC's Original recipe chicken at home, the following is your list of ingredients:

  1. 6 cups of Crisco cooking oil
  2. salt
  3. Accent Flavor Enhancer (found in your spice isle at the grocery store)
  4. black pepper
  5. all-purpose flour
  6. milk
  7. one egg

You'll also need this equipment:

  1. a deep fryer, or fryer of your choice
  2. a metal utensil that has slits across...I personally like to use the utensil that came with my wok
  3. napkins, paper towels, brown paper sandwich bags, paper grocery bags

First, using the 6 cups of Crisco cooking oil , put it into your fryer, and set the temperature on 400 degrees. In a bowl, put your egg and 2 cups of milk in. Whisk these together. In a different bowl, mix your dry ingredients, and set aside. Next, dip some of your chicken in your egg and milk mix until they're covered. Then, cover your chicken in the dry ingredient mixture until they're covered with the dry mixture. Drop in about 4 pieces for each batch, depending on how much space that you have in your fryer. Make sure to lock the lid on your fryer. If you're skillet frying, you can place a lid over that, or if you're using a Fry Daddy without a lid, make sure to stand back and pay attention to your fryer (staying close not recommended...it makes a mess and could burn you!) Cook for about 10 minutes, or until they're entirely cooked and you can't see pink in the middle. Place your chicken on something that will soak up the grease such as napkins, paper towels, brown paper sandwich bags, or paper grocery bags. Repeat with the rest of your chicken until you are done.

Happy Meal, everyone, lol!
