Experiences of an young Indian couple travelling abroad for the first time.

You know what ? Travelling abroad was my childhood dream ....I always looked forward for a visit to the European continent ..etc etc.No..No.No.Nothing like that.You know ?Till Nov 2008, I did not have even a slightest inkling that within a short period, we shall be undertaking this long duration travel.                                                                                                                                                                                       I know you must be thinking on the word "Young" in title of this article. How old are we ? Oh, we have been married for almost 29 years. Then why this word " Young couple " ? " Right ? Friends, dont go purely by the biological age.. we are both very young at heart . Our thoughts are modern.We both believe that each day is a new experience . We have come to trip to get the experiences with an open mind.No prejudices.

Today is exactly 46th day of our tour abroad.During this period , we have travelled to United Kingdom, France, Germany,Brussels & Switzerland .Right now ,we are  stationed at Leeds which is an important destination in the West Yorkshire.( England) There are certain facts about Leeds which require attention. I am told that this was the place which had the largest textile mill in 1925 .( employing 10,000 persons).The first steam engine was designed and manufactured here. More about Leeds later.                                                                                                  Around Leeds,we have been to York and  Hull.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             The articles are based on our own observations across the Europe & United Kingdom .                                                                                                                                                                                    We had started preparations for this journey almost 3 months prior to our  arrival here.                                                                                                                                                                                     As a first step, I had started by understanding the geogrher brain.                                                                         But I was quite weak as far as geography and history were concerned.                                                                           For this ,Google maps provided me with all requisite details                                                                          We had pasted many large size print outs of the Google maps of the various destinations at various places in the home.                                                                                                                                                                         I belive that the thoughts get materialized. And vision plays a  key role in our progress. Like stephen Covey has said " Every thing is created twice..once in the mind and then it comes in existence" ( for this , you may like to refer " Seven habits of highly effective people" authored by Stephen R.Covey ).

Our journey  started from Mumbai .We had to change the plane at Dubai .This t was an unique experience by itself.                                                                                                                                                                             To start with, we missed our connecting flight from Dubai to Manchester . Oh, it was not our fault.Actually, the plane that brought us from Mumabi to Dubai took off late from Mumbai airport by almost 2 hoursAnd it arrived at Dubai slightly late.  As a result, when we landed at Dubai, our next scheduled flight was taking off from the airport.                                                                                                                                                                                  We travelled from Mumbai to Dubai to Manchester by Emirates.                                                                               From Manchester, we came to Leeds by a private cab . It took about an hour .

The first phase of our  travel, ie.Mumbai-Dubai itself was quite interesting. it was full of anxiety .Both of us were nervous.
