This definately works. I know because I try to read the psalms almost every day. God gives you that peace that passeth all understanding.

Years ago before I started to read the psalms I drank and smoked. I was always edgy and never seemed to have any peace of mind. I had nightmares almost once or twice a week and sometimes even more. I was never at peace and always worried and full of fear.

An incident happened that almost pushed me over the edge. Thank God it didn't. My best friend died in a motorcycle accident. My drinking and smoking not only got worse but severe depession set in. I was full of fear, paranoid, depressed and always anxious. I knew I had to do something or I would die. I asked God for help. I had hit a bottom in my life. Being brought up a Chatholic I asked God in the only way I knew how... In Jesus Name. Well, believe it or not God answered my prayer. Make a long story short I started reading the Bible. Slowly but surely my life started to come together and healing rapidly took place. I read the bible as much as I could because I realized how precious it was. I still did not have total peace of mind but that soon changed.

The change was that someone had treated me very wrong and my first reaction was to get even with that person. When I finally justified that the revenge on this individuall was deserving I spoke to someone about it first. The person told me to read the psalms. He said reading the psalms would diminish any revengeful thoughts that I had. I started to read the psalms.. Psalm 37. My favorite. It worked. My anger, revengeful thoughts, resentment and other negative thoughts all vanished. The Psalms are supernatural. I read them everyday. I can say with total honesty that the Psalms in the Old Testament of the Bible will give you true serenity. It worked for me.
