Many of us don't know our rights, so in a sense we don't have any if we are not informed.

Many of us have been stopped by a police officer before. How many of us know what our rights are we our pulled over for a traffic violation. It has been said if you don't know your rights you don't have any.  Well know you will be informed if you are ever in need of help.

A police officer cannot stop a vehicle for just any reason at all.  If this happens to you, don't loud mouth the officer just politely ask why your are being stopped. The only exception to this would be for a roadblock, or a search of every 100th or so vehicle for information purposes.

If you are stooped for a traffic violation by law its illegal for an officer to search your vehicle.  Even if the officer ask for your permission, you do not have to give permission and you will not be held liable for it either.

If you do get arrested for not having insurance or a registration card you can be search legally and any area within your reach. Your car can only be completely searched at the police station. The only exception is if the officer has a warrant.

When you are stopped don't mouth off and curse at the police officer this is the fastest way to get yourself in more trouble.  You are better off using your manners anytime you are pulled over by a police officer.  Remember to keep important information such as your insurance card and registration in the car with you at all times.
