As a writer who wants to make money from articles writing, you should know the importance of using website traffic sources statistics.

As a writer who wants to make money from articles writing, you should know the importance of using website traffic sources statistics.

Why is knowledge of website traffic sources so important?  The website traffic sources statistics show the behavior of the readers, and is an indicator of the potential earnings of the existing article.

Let me analyze the traffic sources statistics provide by Bukisa.

The traffic sources statistics in Bukisa is very comprehensive.  It shows where the visitors come from, and how they find the article.

For example, my article, How to generate traffic to your articles in Bukisa, generates more than a hundred qualified views within two days of posting.  What are the traffic sources?

There are a hundred qualified views from Bukisa, four qualified views with no referral link, three qualified views from google.com, one qualified view from search.live.com, and one qualified view from google.com.ng.

I am most interested in the five readers coming from the search engines.  This shows that the search engines index my articles within two days.  The potential earnings of the article will depend on the readers from search engines.

The keywords analysis is another important aspect of the website traffic sources statistic.

From the list of top keywords, I can see how the readers from search engines get to read my article.

The list of top keywords shows the following keywords and the number of visit:

bukisa                                                                          1

how to generate traffic to your article                 1

generating traffic with articles                             1

make money with traffic exchanges and bukisa 1

page views of articles on ehow                          1

Since I write my articles with the keywords “generate traffic”, “Bukisa”, “articles”, I am not surprised that the readers use those keywords in their searches, and the search engines direct them to my article.

When this article is less than three days old, I do not really expect the traffic sources from search engines.  However, as time goes on, I expect the bulk of the readers will come from search engine.  The website traffic sources statistics will help me to monitor where the readers come from.

For my blogs, and articles in Hubpages, I like to see more readers from search engines.  I use Statcounter to monitor the website traffic sources.  Statcounter is a very comprehensive and free website traffic sources monitor.  Statcounter shows me where the readers come from, what pages they view in my blogs, and their exit page from my blog.

From the statistics, I know what they are looking for and the amount of time they spend surfing my blogs.  I can see which blog post is the most popular, and I can see which keywords they use to access to my blog post.  I can write more articles with those keywords in mind to attract more readers.

All experienced bloggers know that readers from search engines are more likely to click on the Google advertisements displayed in the blogs, and generate income for them.

All experienced bloggers know that paying attention to the website traffic sources statistics, and tailor their blogs to meet the expectation of the readers is the key to making money online.

So folks, do pay more attention to the website traffic sources statistics provided by Bukisa.  If you do not see readers coming from search engines, this means you are not using the seo techniques in article writing correctly.  Your article will not have the potential to make money in the future for you.

Great article. I never thought to use traffic source to find keywords to write my articles and get visitors to my articles. Very true. Search engine visitors are more targeted and will generate revenue. That’s why Bukisa does not validate visitors coming from traffic exchanges as they don’t contribute to Bukisa’s revenue and in the end we the writers will suffer because the Bukisa index will drop.
