Alexis Cohen

                Alexis Cohen American Idol contestant was found dead in Seaside Heights New Jersey Saturday July 25, 2009. Alexis Cohen 25, was enjoying her stay In Seaside Heights when a car struck her and took off from the scene. Alexis was found lying on a Jersey road by someone who was going by and they happen to come upon her body and call 911. The ambulance took Alexis to a near by Hospital in Seaside Heights and was pronounced dead upon arrival at 6:30 A.M. Alexis sustained upper torso injuries as well as injuries to her lower extremities.

               Alexis was known for her eccentric singing style and her overly expressed mouth on American Idol. Alexis auditioned for American Idol twice, but it was a no go for Alexis. What Alexis did receive was her 15 minutes of fame and an abundance of fans across the world for shooting down the big cheese Simon Cowell. Alexis Cohen known as “Glitter Girl” who sang “Somebody to Love” actually made the top to be one of the worst American Idol auditions according to the fans, but it didn't stop Alexis and her wacky style to continue her journey. Alexis liked to compare herself to Janis Joplin, and Pat Benetar, but in Simon’s opinion it was more Like William Dafoe. Other songs that Alexis sang never got her far with American Idol, but her raw humor is what took America by storm. Alexis was a funny, and unique human being that made America tune in to see what she had coming next. Who would have thought that Alexis would give the middle finger to Simon the way she did?
